CELEBRATE OAK PARK MALL MOVIE NIGHT

Old school movie worth a peek for our late night viewers. The clip was pulled from the much of social media garbage but still worth a glimpse . . . Lead photo features the hotties from Valley Girl who were all pushing 30 whilst playing teenagers . . . Still a good movie given it's competition.

Anyhoo, here's an old school news report regarding the last great retail trend before Amazon destroyed retail despite some recent worthwhile efforts to help bring small merchants back . . .

Hopefully, more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

  1. Oak park mall still has a future until Amazon figures out how to deliver to people without the merchandise getting stolen.

    1. Just a bit too nostalgic. A lot of junk for sale that people are tricked into thinking they need. The mall had it's day and now it's over. This is not such a great loss.

  2. Amazon has not destroyed Retail!
It has swatted "Crap Chains" down and made room for local sellers.
Don't forget that over 75% of all full-time jobs are with companies that employ fewer than 50 people.

  3. Very cool video! Proud to say I too was a Mall Rat there during those days and know several people in the video - including both Pam and Melissa. Funny how times have changed, but in several ways have stayed so similar. Overland Park has done very well for itself over the years. But what I wouldn't do for a quick game of Astroids at Nickelodeon, or maybe a corn-dog on a stick before a trip to the woods! anyone? :)

  4. @12:40Am-You obviously never got laid in the 80"s, that or you are such a geriatric that your life was already over in the 80's. if you were a teenager in the 80's the mall was where you went to pick up the sluts. Ask your daughters if you don't believe me, they were likely the sluts.

  5. Great link, Tony. Seeing Sherman D. in his prime was very cool.
