Clay Co. Sheriff concerned about potential budget cut

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Clay County Commission Monday approved next years budget despite complaints and concerns from the Clay County Sheriff's Department. The new budget includes cuts to Public Safety. Sheriff Paul Vescovo is concerned those cuts will hurt his department. Approximately $600,000 could be cut from next year's budget, according to Vescovo.

  2. Nolte is a puppet whose masters don't want the swamp drained. Anyone bother to ask why they cut the budget?

  3. Nolte = clueless in Clay. Flaps his jaw. Where are the jobs Jerry? No where. KCEDC don't like your eco devo people. Each year you have been in office, county taxes have been raised. Now your pay is being raised from 56 to $73,000. You suck. You need to learn to work with people. Since you won't or can't, the employees and voters pay the price of your incompetence. Resign or go run for congress, state like you have several times or dog catcher of Gladstone. Course, you need to make a decision, oh my, to catch that doggy.

  4. Nolte voted no to the pay raise. Ridgeway voted in favor while also voting to cut her work load in half

  5. Typical like a legislator to vote no, but he still gets it. So he has "cover", but he still gets it and it increases his pension. So write a check back to the county, then we will see. And the county lawyer said that the county had violated state law on compensation so those who voted yes, complied with state law, but not Nolte, a former termed out legislator. But he still gets it even after responsible officials voted to comply with state law, a law that Nolte voted for as a legislator. So you see, Nolte is a pansy who voted to make county officials vote on their own pay as it used to be a Jefferson City decision, but no, Nolte voted yes before he voted no. Moronic.

  8. Dump all three of them!
    That should make everyone happy.
Or at least make everyone keep quiet- what the heck did you think was going to happen if you voted for any of these Hacks?

Kick their butts out next election and force them to get a real job for the first times in their lives!

  9. This is payback for the Laurie Portwood case. The County Clerk (who is also having her budget cut) notified the Sheriff that Portwood had possible tampered with a public record.

Sheriff then sent a detective to investigate. Sheriff and detective then sent this over to the state troopers to investigate further.

Take away: don't do your job or Nicole Brown and Luann Ridgeway will cut your budget.
