Kansas City Police Baffled By Rise In Deadly Traffic Accidents

  2. Cops almost never write a ticket where the speed limit is above 45 MPH. Drivers are going 85 MPH on all the interstates.

  3. It's a no brainer.
    It's called Cell Phone Distraction.

These same idiots who escape a crash cause road rage also.
They are ignorant to other people on the road and have no respect for others or anything.

    I'm not mad, just TPO!

  4. I agree this cell phone craze is out of hand. You people on Truman rd, Brookside Blvd, and 24 hi-way need to stay in your own lane you drive these massive SUV's and huge trucks in the city and you can't stay in your own lane. Hit me and I will run medical bills on your insurance through the roof. Oh and you need to stop driving with expired temp tags, I have counted at least ten in one week-end.

  7. REASONS--
-Police in KCMO may be awesome at DUI checkpoints... But do not enforce normal speeding laws.. especially during the day
-Poor roads, signals, thin lanes, poor signage
    -Phones

  8. ^^^My God! You have cracked the case Sherlock! Stunning insight to this very real problem. Have you submitted this information to the KCPD? What was their response? We need more free-thinkers and whip-smart fellows like you in this fair city! Most people just make shallow, general, lazy and ignorant comments they believe as fact. But not you, oh no sir, not you! Very well done indeed!

  9. Unless the numbers are very large, there are bound to be peaks and valleys over time. They are only concerning if the peaks persist to become the new paradigm. There is no indication in the story that this has happened (or, hasn't). Without it, the story is meaningless.

  10. You can't expect a population to be able to drive when so many have no license or insurance. Of course enforcing those laws would make us racists, right Tony?

  11. Want to know the real reason? Ask a traffic cop, if he or she trusts you then they will let you know.

    ^^Stereotype much?

1:23 why won't you tell us?

    Or is your stereotype implied.

    1. No stereotype, failed internal policy and projects over the last year.

  13. 4:25, 1:23 made an observation about the overall behavior of a discrete group of people. It may be true that the group as a whole tends to behave as described, or it may be false, but it's not a stereotype. If s/he had assumed that behavior with respect to one or two persons from that group, that would have been stereotyping. Not othewise.

Think it through before you post.

  14. A mechanic is going to cost you 80 bucks an hour. The average car on the road is 10 years old which means you need about 1500.00 a year in maintenance to keep a car running safe.
