KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- According to James Garrett with the Kansas City Fire Department, one person was killed in a house fire at the 1200 block of W. 41st Street in the Volker neighborhood in midtown. The fire was reported at about 8:30 a.m., Sunday.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police said one person was killed on a roadway in what is believed to be a hit-and-run incident. Emergency personnel responded to a scene along eastbound Interstate 670 near Genessee Street around 11:30 p.m. Saturday regarding a pedestrian struck.

1 killed in 3-vehicle crash on Johnson Drive in Shawnee
One person died at the scene of a crash in Shawnee on Sunday morning. It happened in the area of Barker Road and Johnson Drive just before 10 a.m. Three vehicles were involved in the crash. In addition to the one person who died at the scene, another person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

OLDENBURG, Ind. -- The initial investigation into a small plane crash in Indiana has determined that the single engine Cessna (Tail Number N761YZ) originated from Kansas City and was heading to an airport in Frederick, Maryland when the crash occurred.
