KANSAS CITY PROMISES SIDEWALK REPAIR AND MORE BIKE LANES IN THE SPRING!!!

Quick look at end of year hype for GO Bonds and happy thoughts for activists amid the holiday season . . .

DO YOU BELIEVE KANSAS CITY WILL KEEP THESE PEDESTRIAN PROMISES???

People who know how City Hall works realize that cash for neighborhood repair ALWAYS runs out first and this is more likely given the growing municipal debt.

Nevertheless, here's a glimpse of 12th & Oak good news . . .

KCMO: City Council approves Complete Streets Ordinance

Deets:

City Council approved an ordinance on Thursday that reinforces efforts to provide safe and accessible options for all forms of travel for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users and motorists. The ordinance provides guidelines on how sidewalks and bicycles should be included in capital road projects and new development, offering increased efficiencies and lowering the environmental impact of the City’s transportation system.

“This codifies our mission to provide equitable multi-modal access to all roadway users. It was a collaborative effort to put together this comprehensive policy and we are thankful for support from our partner city departments, City Council, Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and community advocates,” said Public Works Director Sherri McIntyre.

  1. The northland is without sidewalks in many areas. This is where the improvements should start.

  2. Kansas City is a shithole. We don’t fix anything. By the way, I love screwing chicks in thigh high hose..

  3. Who cares? We need 14 more homicides to break the record. Let’s focus on that for the next couple of weeks.

  4. Northland won't see it, Southtown won't see it, Midtown won't see it, Downtown won't see it. The only part of the city that might see it will be Eastside.

The city can't even paint lines on the street and fix deep holes in tourist traveled areas.

You will see more Sasquatch than bicyclists using bike lanes.

  14. Sly should be walking the sidewalks, spending time on the other side of Troost, asking the billionaires of KC to get involved in helping with Downtown hotel (we have about 20 by my count). Garmin, Cerner, Halls, Brandmeyer, Helzburg, Price, Bloch, Sunderland, Ward, Regnier, Merriman, Van Tuyl, Stowers, Tradebot, Commerce, UMB (note, some of those entitites have 2-3 billionaires out of their organizations)

Guys, step up and make it happen, you can't take it with you. Hell, old Frank Morgan would have done his share, what is wrong with some of you guys helping?

Everything is not the burden of the people who have so little, step up guys

  16. Stop calling it the east side when your talking about the central, core, that’s where the money supposedly goes. The real east side doesn’t get squat done and hasn’t for the 18 years I’ve lived out there
