KANSAS CITY HOMICIDE VIGIL HONORS 137 MURDERS IN 2017 AS KILLING CONTINUES!!!
We posted a note for this tribute earlier in the week and now the local news picks up the story.
More importantly . . .
THIS HAS BEEN A HISTORICALLY BLOODY YEAR IN KANSAS CITY WHILST CITY HALL HAS BEEN MOSTLY FOCUSED ON MAYOR SLY'S DEVELOPMENT AGENDA!!!
Police are fighting for their budget, the Citizen Task force against violence turned out to be a bad joke and worst of all . . .
NEITHER LAW ENFORCEMENT NOR CITY HALL HAS REVEALED A NEW PLAN TO CONFRONT THE RISE IN KANSAS CITY MURDER!!!
Here's a local faith community calling attention to the problem:
Community members came together on Saturday afternoon to pray for those killed in 2017. Norton Heights Community of Christ church held a prayer vigil for all of the city’s 137 homicide victims.
“It’s really just a tragedy, of this loss of life because every life is of value, every life is important,” said Pastor Peter Judd of Norton Heights Community of Christ.
Judd says church members felt compelled to do something because of the city’s alarmingly high homicide rate. They hope that by displaying the crosses near a busy intersection in a Historic Northeast neighborhood, it sends a message to passers by.
