  1. While the info is important, what I hate is that a lot of the comments seem to want more murders and encourage the slaughter. Even when it's a woman and even when innocent people are killed.

I think that mentality from the a lot of people in the community at large is a big part of the homicide problem. That's why it doesn't stop, because a lot of people encourage it.

    1. Do you really think the killers read TKC before pulling the trigger?

    2. Excellent point 5:17 - These murders are the fault of the killers, that is where the blame goes, not society!

    3. Right. We want more murders, so the cops don’t bother to solve murders. Jean Petersucker Baker doesn’t prosecute them.

  2. I never thought there was any chance of breaking the all-time high record, but I’m beginning to wonder. The number in the headline is very helpful for those who have been out of town for a few days.

  3. Do you really think the killers, mostly scholars from the KCPS system, can read at all?

    1. Pretty true, one major difference. Their crooked mayor has already been convicted and sent to prison and our hasn’t yet. Hopefully soon.

  10. @5:04pm. What do you suggest we do? Vigils? Face it, murders in the (largely) black community in KC demonstrate a wanton disregard for life. If they don't care about those lives, how should we? I feel bad when innocent lives are taken, but what am I supposed to do about it? There is literally NO WAY that I can help improve that situation. There has to be a ground swell of attitudinal change within that community before any real change can occur. Throwing money at it doesn't help, additional police officers doesn't help, community outreach doesn't help, education doesn't help. I'd say 99.9% of the people on this blog (me included) can't fathom growing up in a black household where there is zero effort put in to raising children as productive, respectful members of a civil society. Things that we view as "normal" are entirely foreign concepts to most of those kids. I'd say most are worn out on it so we make flippant, glib comments anonymously as a recognition there IS a problem, but one that has no apparent solution.
