Tonight the Kansas City Chiefs earned a last minute victory against the Denver Broncos in what was mostly a glorified practice game.
The contest was sloppy, entertaining and uneven but still successful . . . Which is very much like most of what happened in KC and the nation this year.
QB Patrick Mahomes didn't exactly prove himself, but he didn't choke either. The win might contribute to an ongoing QB controversy among the most hopeful fanboys but the reality of the newbie's performance seemed to reflect that he's not quite ready for prime time even if he's the only Chiefs drafted QB to win a game since the 80s. Word to Todd Blackledge.

A nice holiday game but this wasn't really the Chiefs.
ReplyDeleteMore like the b team.
Hope the real squad rested up because the playoffs won't be that easy. This Denver squad has some real problems and shouldn't have provided much of a challenge.

ReplyDeleteHoly Cow! Who was that horse head play by play announcer? We had to turn volume down after the first quarter. Was her TelePrompTer written in all CAPS?
ReplyDeleteFun game and congrats to Mahomes and Chiefs
