Deets:

"Jackson County legislators on Monday approved a $3.44 million contract with Radmacher Brothers Excavation of Pleasant Hill to build a 6.4-mile section of the new trail on old Rock Island tracks from Jefferson Street in Lee’s Summit north to Brickyard Road west of Unity Village. It’ll be a lot like the Little Blue Trace Trail – 10 feet wide, mostly small gravel but concrete in places, with mile markers and occasional trailheads with parking and restrooms. 4. What a huge waste of money, starting with the $52,000,000 the county blew on this land in the first place. And this shit trail is going to be mostly gravel! Suck wheelchair users!

  8. so , $500,000 per mile to rip up rails and lay gravel ? does the county i.e us the taxpayer at least get the rails for scrap , or does that go radmacher as well ?

  9. Perhaps the greatest tradgedy in all this is it treats bicyclists better than fat-ass journalists who promote fake news. Why should cyclists be favored over fat-ass journalists who promote dead-trees that are dispersed on driveways that will be gone like 45rpm records and relegated to distant mementoes all too soon?
Promoting healthy habits VS. promoting Tax breaks for old geysers who rant and rave about all that’s wrong with the world is asinine. I read in the paper this morning, because my neighbor got up late, that if you short newspaper stock of KC Star- you can get rich!
