In the ongoing struggle on college campuses for LGBT equality and acceptance, Kansas State University is an unexpected leader. K-State is best known for agriculture and football. On a gorgeous fall day in Manhattan, with the K-State marching band entertaining tailgaters, many fans were surprised to learn that their school was ranked in the 25 campuses for LGBT friendliness by CampusPride.org.

  1. Everyone except the media already knew that. Most people in Manhattan are gay and very supportive of faggots and lesbians. Lawrence has always been known as a gay college town it, but for whatever reason, the media was unaware that Manhattan is, too.

  2. Nationwide, roughly 12% of college students identify themselves as gay. At K-State probably 65- 70 % are gay or lesbian. The university promotes itself very well to the large market of prospective gay students.

  7. 15 years ago, it was rare to see a queer in Manhattan. There there are faggots everywhere you go in Manhattan, and always swishing around.
