TRACKING KANSAS CITY NEW AIRPORT PROGRESS COMPLETELY DEPENDENT ON PRESS RELEASE COPY AND FAKE NEWS!!!

Quick update on a vote aftermath . . .

Newsflash fact of life . . .

KANSAS CITY VOTERS WILL BE MOSTLY MISINFORMED BY CITY HALL PROPAGANDA THROUGHOUT THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS OF THE NEW AIRPORT!!!

The same kind of hyperbolic press release copy that dominates most downtown development will soon be focused on airport construction.

Example . . . Here's a corporate cheerleader website already set up . . .

Unofficial KCI Progress Tracker

Better still  . .

Check this quick compare/contrast note from SaveKCI pointing out an initial discrepancy and lower expectations already in place- Stephen Hardy is the CEO of mySidewalk employment posts an impact metric goal of 4,000 jobs by 2021, but EDC folks and Councilman Fowler in the his op/ed promised 17,000.

As far as local reporting . . . Kansas City's daily newspaper gave up tracking homicides long ago and the only served as cheerleader for this project . . . So it's doubtful local residents will get anything beyond their ongoing celebratory coverage in the future regarding the real world outcome of a rigged election.

  1. The very least KC should ask for is a public information officer specifically for the airport construction process.

But that's not going to happen.

The MOU details alone should be enough to send most members of council to jail.

    1. This is how most City Hall reporting works so we shouldn't be surprised.

  2. The days of shoe leather journalism are over. Nobody seems to be ferreting out the facts at the scene, just getting the bare minimum needed to print a story from public information personnel and press releases.

  3. I'm glad to see Save KCI and CFRG are still keeping an eye on this mess.

  4. Just Board your flight and stay away from concessions, why have food poisoning at thirty thousand feet. And you will have a great trip ..
