TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! RAGE AGAINST MIDDLE-CLASS 'PET PROJECT' WHITE LADIES READY TO FIRE MOSTLY BLACK WORKERS AT KCMO ANIMAL CONTROL!!!

Tonight we follow-up on a story that OUR KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY set into motion . . .

KANSAS CITY WORKERS ARGUE AGAINST ANIMAL CONTROL PRIVATIZATION WHICH THREATENS THEIR JOBS AND SETS A DANGEROUS PRECEDENT FOR ALL CITY EMPLOYEES!!!

Even worse, the racial angle to this story has socialite white ladies FIRING THE NEARLY ALL BLACK STAFF WORKING KANSAS CITY ANIMAL CONTROL - As we noted previously.

And while some Conservatives celebrate City Hall privatization - The layoffs in question contradict the do-gooder branding of local animal lovers who seem to prize doggie care above keeping people of color employed.

The funny part here is to watch local "progressives" get really angry when the consequences of their actions are questioned.

Like it or not, the reality of this debate reminds us that the Liberal/Conservative slap-fight is mostly a parlor game played by the middle-class that serves to enforce the status quo despite any election outcome.

Meanwhile, the political reality is that City Council members should think carefully about the messages they send to City Hall workers about privatization which extend far beyond this pet project debate.

KSHB: "The audit came out and it was a slap in our face. We know that we have to get better, and we have been making those improvements," Supervisor Daniel Martin told the council.

Newspaper: KC council considers privatizing animal control, but is that fair to city workers?

KCTV5: “We have a proven track record here of saving lives,” said Tori Fugate spokeswoman with KC Pet Project. “We’ve saved over 45,000 lives since taking over in 2012 and this would just be another opportunity where we could work to save lives here in KC and help animals all over our community.

You decide . . .

  1. Really like it when they talk about the welfare of the animals when they're about to can a whole city department right before Christmas.

  2. Why is it that in KCMO government, in department after department, it takes an outside audit to list the planning, organizational, operational, and performance failures that go on year after year?
What do the department heads and managers get paid to do?
What do the council oversight committees make believe they do?
The actual functions of city government are completely ignored while Sly and the gang play amateur developer with the taxpayers' money.
No wonder the rest of the metro is adding population faster than KCMO.
Of course, not counting the thousands and thousands of millenials who are flocking to downtown.
    Hahahahahaha!!

  3. Fire all the black workers. Replace half of them with Asians and the stray cat problem will be fixed. Replace the other half with Koreans and the stray dog problem will be fixed.

  4. Won't have to can them if they've been doing their jobs!

I have respect for the actual field officers, but everyone from about the third level up needs to go, especially Martin.

Besides, who do you think KC Pet Project is going to hire?
The trained workers will probably come out of this in as good a shape and be as happy as the worthwhile Zoo Staff members did after the Zoo was ripped out of Parks & Rec's hands and started being run the way it should always have been.

Stop trying to make this a "race" thing, it's about Managerial Incompetence and the City's ability to perform.

  5. @8:32 - I may not agree with you but F*UCK if you don't make me laugh.

    Nicely done.

  6. Have to agree with 8:36 p.m. poster. If KC Pet Project tried to fire these long-time city workers, I can only imagine how long a process that would be. City jobs are ironclad guaranteed, unless you are caught with your pants down. Even then, sometimes you can lawyer your way out of that. Set standards for the employees and make sure they follow the rules. If you do your job, no problem, eh?

  7. Black employees generally suck--then sue when they get fired for being lazy fuck-ups. This is why the city needs a cool Billion dollars to fix the sewers.

  8. If they were worth a damn privatization would not be considered, right?!

  9. KC Pet Project is such a great group. Whether you’re an animal lover or not, homeless pets deserve advocates with their best interest at heart. KCPP has proven themselves again and again, and would be a perfect ally for the city.

  10. Remember the KCMO Animal Control guys (happened to be 2 black males) that got caught dumping dead dogs in an illegal dumping ground about 1-2 years ago? A resident in the area got them on video.

One guy was a veteran of the department (10-20 years) and used the excuse that he didn't want to drive all the way back to the office at the end of his shift.

Nobody got fired. City Manager Schulte didn't intervene to do the right thing. That folks, is how KCMO government routinely operates.

Should homeless people worry about homeless dogs?

It's a relevant question when you consider that losing a job is how most people become homeless. When you threaten someone's job, you threaten their life.

    1. What the fuck would you know about losing a job?

    2. 10:33 asks a relevant question Byron. If this deal proceeds, maybe you can do a seminar for the laid off workers on how to mooch off the government for life. It never ceases to mystify me why you have chosen to intrude on a local, KC blog where you do not belong in any way, shape or form, and you’re very obviously persona non grata on the best day. If you really are the brother of a former mayor, that makes it even stranger, especially since he wasn’t fond of you either.

  12. It's absolutely imperative that Kansas City Pet Project takes control of KC Animal Control.
If this goes through, just sit back and watch the transformation.
These "Middle Class White Ladies" know precisely what they're doing.
It's amazing to watch KCPP move from strength to strength.
This organization is a blessing to us all.

  13. What can we do to get this to happen? GO LADIES!

  14. ^^^ LOL. Seems to be the overriding sentiment.

  15. It is a scientific fact that blacks are generally less capable employees, especially when employed by any government agency and regardless of whate level- from dog catcher to county executive. Frank White is a perfect example.

  17. How will this effect Denny Waits' girlfriends in the animal shelter sector? This seems good for them!

  18. It is absolutely imperative that the fucking city of Kansas City stop trying to run every business except city business. They sure as hell haven't gotten that down yet.
