  3. Houston Excavation knocked down the largest forest in independence last year. Houston is in the pocket of Bank of Blue Ridge who runs Independence City Hall.

  6. We don't need no stinking trees interfering with business. Can't make any money with trees, streams, wildlife, and peaceful vistas. Developers call the shots in this town. Soon there will be nothing but strip malls, parking lots, housing complexes as far as the eye can see. The developers will be smiling.
