TKC MONDAY QUESTION: ARE KANSAS CITY NEW AIRPORT QUESTION #1 SUPPORTERS JUST A BUNCH OF SELFISH CREEPS WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT THE 2017 HOMICIDE SPIKE, PROPERLY FUNDING COPS OR THE DEVELOPMENT AGENDA THAT TAKES CASH AWAY FROM SCHOOLS AND LIBRARIES???

The comfort of airline passengers is the least important problem confronting Kansas City in 2017.

The following list of local wrongs is far more important . . .

- So far this year the official count for homicides is 124 which is a significant increase over last year as property crime, car thefts and assaults have all spiked as well.

- The KCPD top cop is begging for more cash like a hobo because 911 is a joke, wait times are incredible and don't feature music to at least comfort the caller in crisis.

- And City Hall continues to push a development agenda that not only attacks the local Democratic process but continues to pilfer funds from schools and libraries in an effort to support a speculative and irrationally exuberant luxury living space real estate bubble.

For these reasons and so many more in addition to the fact that Kansas City's Mayor Sly James has started to dress like a clown in some kind of weird cry for help . . .

THE MOST STRIDENT ACTIVISTS IN TOWN CLAIM THAT VOTING NO AGAINST QUESTION #1 MIGHT BE THE LAST RELEVANT PROTEST VOTE IN RECENT KANSAS CITY HISTORY!!!

TKC will not make any campaign endorsements on this upcoming election because it's not by business what locals decide to do with their lives . . . And, should this hot mess meet with voter approval, the ensuing chaos and inevitable jail time for more than a few participants should be fun to watch.

You decide . . .

  1. Make it simpler: Everybody who supports it is getting paid to support it or stands to make a significant financial gain. That's the reality.

    1. Never understood how the lack of a decent restaurant became a city crisis. The same could be said of the North Kansas City and I don't see anyone rushing to fix it.

    3. You know that Airport Funds, by Federal Law, can’t be used to fix roads, pay for cops and teachers. You know all that. But it doesn’t match with your misguided misinformed agenda. Apparently the truth is not good enough.

  3. You people just don't get it. A lot of the problems you are talking about can be improved by creating more jobs and making Kansas City more accessible. We are on the verge of something great and providing better transit for millions, yes I said millions of tourists who visit our city is the most important investment we can make and stands to benefit EVERYONE. Don't stop our momentum. Don't vote against progress. Go for a better KCI and a greater KC!

Amazing! This is the exact line give-it-away Kay used when anyone disagreed with her vision. Well, we're getting it now. BOHICA!

  9. 9:12, "Better transit for millions"? Seriously? If you're talking about a slow-moving streetcar extension to UMKC, that is not better transit. The Max bus is faster and more efficient and we've had that since 2005.

  10. Backing a new airport places the future pensions of firemen, police and every employee and current retiree in jeopardy...as it will be backed by the full faith and credit of the City of Kansas City, Missouri which includes that portion the City has obligated to contribute. I hope these City employees to are able see the forest instead of the tree.

    1. No it doesn’t. But you know that. No pensions are in jeopardy. I am a retired employee who is getting a city pension and I should know.

wouldn't that open up more gates, more parking?

  12. You are all pants-shitters. This thing already passed. No amount of hyperbole, false narratives, or wishful thinking can change it. You are all hopelessly out-of-touch with what's going on in Kansas City. Yes, homicides are high, but what you fail to comprehend is that they are mostly contained to the black community and hence, do not factor whatsoever into the lives of big business and the vast majority of Kansas Citians. The mayor understands this, why don't you? You people also don't understand that TKC is nothing more than an echo-chamber for a bunch of geezers to jerk each other off. Stupid Dave jerks off chuck who jerks off Crazy Clown who jerks off Gay-back..etc. None of you have a pulse on what's really going on in the city. It's why you were surprised when the GO bonds passed easily, and why you have no idea how unpopular Trump is in the real world. Don't be surprised when this passes too. You heard it here first.

  13. If it passes, I'll tell everyone, hey, I heard it first from some anonymous person on TKC. Everyone will be impressed.

  14. The City "borrowed" airport funds to make a payment on the power and light district.. so don't tell me they can't finagle a way to mis-appropriate the funds. 17 murders in my area this year and the mayor says nothing.

  18. 9:12 the gangs and the drug dealers are still going to shoot at each other even if you build two airports. If the crime continues,Not many more business will locate to the area and fewer tourist.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 9:12 A city cannot be great as long as crime is at current levels. A new airport will only create temporary jobs and certainly no jobs for those who need them. This city could become great if the coalition of Chamber looters and minority grifters lose control.

  23. I will vote "NO" tomorrow11/6/17, 1:16 PM

9:13, has to be no doubt the comment of the year.

I love our airport layout just as it is. Clean it up, add a few modern things, do some hardcore cleaning and keep it looking good which isn't really all that hard to grasp a hold of. I asked Super Dave yesterday what he really thought about the airport issue and here is what he wrote. I just wanted to share it with you all. Makes a lot of common sense but he does that a lot.

    He said;
"Sadly the airport issue is more P&L/Sprint Center type bullshit being shoved down the taxpayer's throats. The build it and they will come bullshit never was a factual agenda for anyone or anything. If a restaurant was such a great idea for the airport I guarantee you there would have been companies lined up to put a place in one of the terminals. The fact of the matter is, it isn't a money-making adventure and savvy businessmen know it. You have an ambulance chasing Mayor with a done nothing, isn't going to do anything Asst Mayor followed by a group of council members who I sometimes wonder if they are smart enough to wipe after taking a dump. Yes, I am being rather crude here but sometimes you have to do so to get peoples attention. This city is broke and I mean broke not only financially wise but in daily operations along with a rampant crime wave that so far it appears no member of the city government appears to be too overly concerned with. Citizen's of Kansas City need to start voting NO to this trash and start movements that will get the proper people voted into office that will do what is best for Kansas City and not just for themselves. What Kansas City needs is leadership, not a dictatorship full of ignorance and greed. Until the city regains it's once peaceful, beautiful tree-lined streets, nice businesses with clean streets, water waterways void of crap it makes no difference what shiny things you build it isn't going to ever fix a thing or make all the other issues go away. If a bed is full of fleas or bedbugs, a new bedspread isn't going to solve the underlining problem."
