TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! INSIDERS DOUBT COMMITTEE READ DOCUMENTS BEFORE APPROVING $322-MILLION DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY CONVENTION HOTEL!!!

Most of Kansas City media is settling for sponsored content garbage coverage of the Downtown Kansas City Convention hotel.

Hopefully, we'll have more deets on today's debate . . . But first . . . THAT PHOTO UP TOP IS THE STACK OF DOCUMENTS APPROVED by the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority in a rushed vote before the end of the year.

Even better a quote from insiders on this deal offers an important bit of skepticism about the project that still lacks financial oversight . . .

"Here’s a picture of the paperwork for the Downtown Convention Hotel - No way LCRA folks actually read it before voting on it."

And so . . .

COUNCIL PREPARES TO APPROVE THE DOWNTOWN CONVENTION HOTEL BUT THE FINANCIAL DEETS OF THIS SWEETHEART DEAL ARE STILL SECRET!!!

Like it or not, this is Kansas City SIGNING A BLANK CHECK WITH NO VOTER INPUT based solely on pretty pictures and a contract very few people have read.

Developing . . .

  1. I see the LCRA logo, still looking for that rubber stamp.

Straight up KCMO looting. You almost have to admire it, most people need a gun to commit this kind of robbery.

    1. This is why you go to law school! The details of this one-sided agreement are some of the worst that KC has ever seen. That's why the newspaper doesn't want you to now about them.

    2. One more time for the cheap seats: If this was such a great business opportunity then it wouldn't require City Hall financing.

    1. You Jackson County piece of human trash, please learn how blogs work - Stories move down the page when new ones are posted. This shouldn't be too hard to understand, even for somebody from Independence, Missouri. The story is still up if you knew how to do a web search and it's linked as a top story on the sidebar in the desktop version of this site. Go get a web tutor OR never come back here again you fucking worthless NOOB.

Actually, the link takes you to another story now. I just tried it. There is a problem with the link that comes up in the search. Maybe there is a browser issue. Tony loads this blog up with a lot of slow scripts.

  7. ^^^ Ah, so you're a troll faking ignorance. Nicely done Wildman. Keep on reading TKC and hoping that will make the difference. The link you asked for was on that post so you're either remarkably stupid or just don't have a day job. Probably both. I gotta get back to mine so good luck with your failed life.

    Cheers!

    1. ^^^^ Stupid. Mike Burke is doing more for Kansas City than you could ever possibly contribute. I still don't know what's wrong with building resources for KCMO and creating jobs. The people of Citizens Against Virtually Everything need to GROW UP or GET OUT.
