TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY EMERGENCY ORDINANCE DEMANDS VOTES FOR MORE PIAC CASH!!!

Behind the scenes, on the sneak and in the aftermath of holiday season malaise . . . City Hall is looking to requisition more loot from Kansas City taxpayers by way of a vote on Public Improvements Advisory Committee (PIAC) funding.

Never mind that a lot of these "needs" should already have enough funding via the GO BOND vote earlier this year . . . And let's also not forget how easy it has been for council-members to loot, commandeer and redirect PIAC funds . . .

Here's the word from a KC Insider . . .

"They have until the end of January to put this on the ballot. They're increasing the length from 10 to 20 years. Doing this right after a holiday . . ."

Legislative (emergency) proof recently introduced without a sponsor names . . .

#170919 - Amending Chapter 68, Code of Ordinances, entitled “Taxation”, by enacting a new Section 68-450, to extend for 20 years the City’s current 1% sales tax used for capital improvements and to codify dedication of the available annual sales tax receipts with 35% for neighborhood conservation, maintenance and improvements divided equally among Council districts and 65% for capital improvements with at least 25% for street resurfacing, repair, and the construction of complete street facilities; reaffirming the role of the Public Improvements Advisory Committee; providing for submission of this ordinance to the qualified voters of the City for their approval at an election called for Tuesday, April 3, 2018; authorizing and directing the City Clerk to notify the responsible election authorities of this election; authorizing and directing the City Clerk to notify the Missouri Director of Revenue if the proposal is approved by the voters; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

  1. Piac is always a good time the groups asking for cash regularly provide comic relief for KC. Keep it going and set it up like American Idol or Shark Tank. I'm sure the ridiculous proposals would get laughs from all over the nation.

LOL @ 6:24. you sound like a veteran of some of these meetings. Same here. Always good fun with some great causes and more laughable plans as well. If only most residents knew that this money mostly ends up in the hands of real estate developers or pet projects.

  3. Ultimately, the only people left in Kansas City will be the ones owning nothing taxable and without much if any income to tax. The Detroitification continues.
