Probably a moot point given growing American income disparity AND given the fact that foreign investors and not local hipsters are really driving the market.

Kansas City renters have hard time finding place to live downtown and stay within budget
Downtown Kansas City is booming once again. Just 10 years ago, downtown wasn't yet home to the Kansas City Live! venue, the Sprint Center or new luxury apartments like One Light. Now, 3,900 more residential units are planned for this year. Still, people in the city are having a hard time finding a place to rent on a budget.
I recall that some developer is putting up some tax free apartments in the severely blighted Plaza area.
ReplyDeleteIf there was only a free toy train to ride to get there from downtown it would make it so much easier for the rent challenged.
It is well worth it for queers. Lots of other queers live downtown so you don’t have far to go to get buttfucked or what ever faggotry you want.
ReplyDeleteI can set people up in new places cheaper than that
ReplyDeletePlease. That much for a Cracker Jack Box? It if were NYC, San Fran, or even Denver, I could see it.
ReplyDeleteMy mortgage in JOCO is $500 less per month. I do not have to worry about crime or the resale value in my neighborhood.
You'd think that with all the heavily subsidized apartment buildings the rent would be affordable.
ReplyDeleteInstead, now all the over-the-top rents go directly to the bottom lines.
Of OUT-OF-TOWN companies.
Great work for the local residents as usual, Sly!
An affluent Gentleman stated you visit or drive there you don't live there. You will save hundreds of thousands of Dollars. You try to live 15 minutes from anywhere you want to be even a lake if you like the water.
ReplyDelete4:29, what world do you live in? You can't get a broom closet for that in NYC or SFO.
ReplyDeleteI can afford it, I got the softest hands under the Broadway bridge.
ReplyDeleteWestwood Village Luxury Apartments has some vacancies.
ReplyDeleteMold and leaks may force residents from Woodside Village in ...
Kansas City Star-Nov 8, 2017
Leaks and mold concerns have forced Woodside Village in Westwood to offer to move some residents or even let them out of leases at the project, which was developed with millions of dollars in public support.
I know where there are brand new places loaded with extras starting at $785 for a 1 bed 1 bath to $1020 for 2 bed 2 bath apartments in very low crime area. All just 30 minutes from downtown in beautiful golden ghetto Johnson County.
ReplyDeleteJust wait 25 years.
ReplyDeleteWhen the new downtown tax abated apartments look "dated" and have water damage because of second rate construction the rent will be affordable. Just not the taxes the landlord has to pay. (whomever that unlucky bastard may be.)
Move out to the Golden Ghetto of South Central Overland Park much safer , much less dangerous and you're going to live a great deal longer , won't get raped carjacked assaulted homo molested stabbed shot killed mugged TRANNY GROIDS hood rats beat down and respect for your neighborhood !¡!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's amazing to me as if they don't have to pay people to live in that shit hole.
ReplyDeleteslie’s plan of getting rid of the poor, trouble makers is working! Gotta keep downtown safe for him because that’s all he cares about
ReplyDeletePeople so un-resourceful that they can't find better and more affordable rentals in a two-million population metro, deserve each other. Let's contain them to downtown.
ReplyDeleteImagine that! It took foreign investors to keep boons out of the neighborhood. I love America.
ReplyDeleteThe rent downtown is only that high for the snobs. There are cheaper places just down the road.
ReplyDeleteJust a quick drive across the Heart of America bridge to NKC is a fairly decent selection of apartments and homes for sale or rent. And you are close to several breweries. Gotta ask a question about the obsession with getting granite in the downtown units. What is so special about granite that it's worth so much more money?
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, back at Tony Botello’s mom’s basement.....
