TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY NEW AIRPORT CAMPAIGN RAISES ONE MILLION BUCKS TO BUY NOVEMBER VOTE!!!

Our blog community broke this news last week when they first filed their HALF MILLION claim on the way to this milestone . . . And now here's the newspaper transcribing our leftovers. Take a look:

KCI campaign fund-raising tops $1 million

The flow of cash into the campaign for a single terminal at KCI has topped $1 million, with more than half coming within the last two weeks, according to public filings. In the three-month period ending Sept. 30, the Kc Transportation Transit And Tourism Committee, or Kc3T, raised almost $465,000, according to a quarterly report filed Monday with the Missouri Ethics Commission.

  3. Has everyone registered that the vendor cycle was only a month which could only be designed to rush a fix superficially. Any legitimate cycle would allow 3-4 months after their fix blew up. The deal still smells rotten, a billion dollar procurement cycle by any commercial firm would probably run a year at least. People should be going to jail.

  4. Contrast this to best practices in a procurement cycle with real management skills demonstrating disciplines, people should be going to jail

  7. I thought for sure the voters would turn down the $800 GO Bonds, but they drank the Kool-Aid and believed that they money would actually be used to fix KC's problems. (sound of hysterical laughing and crying)

Now, the voters (the few that bother to show up and vote) will have us spend more of our hard-earned money (one BILLION smackeroos, to be sorta exact) on a new airport that only needs a creative remodel.

    More Kool-Aid, please.

  8. What a straight shooting local government in KC. If you don't vote they way they want then they will spend millions to win. Gosh that sounds like a level and fair playing field for all citizens involved in the process, eh? This is just soooooo Democratic.
