TKC COMMENT SPOTLIGHT: CELEBRATE KANSAS CITY CELEBRITY SKEPTICISM!!!
Here's a fun little fact for our free speech community . . .
The more that we have cracked down on spammers and send trolls on their way, the better the conversation on this blog has become . . . AND STILL WE REMAIN THE LAST FREE SPEECH ZONE IN KANSAS CITY!!!
And the BEST place to come for discussion that won't get you fired with help from all of your frenemies on Fakebook.
As of late, SUPER DAVE has been KILLING IT with his comments on the anthem and mass shootings. RETRO ROCKER is a new force to be reckoned with . . . And we've seen some great stuff from Miss Allen, Phil, Greedo, Chuck, Streetcar Critics, Progressive Pioneers and the perennial hilarity of TOP PHOTO GUY.
However, this comment really stood out for me and was highlighted by some of the best denizens of our blog community as a perspective worthy of consideration and something that speaks to the ethos of our blog community.
On the subject of upcoming celebrity events . . .
"Make no mistake, the upper echelon of the 1% doesn't define themselves with mantels of Conservative, Republican, Liberal, Democrat except when speaking to us peons. They serve their own self interests: Period. Right now, they're Republican because it most benefits them, if there was some massive paradigm shift in the next election where being liberal would best line their pockets; then that's exactly what they would be. Same throughout the course of history and the 1%s of either party. They could pay me to meet them and be nice, I'd probably do it for $200 for an hour or so. But other than that, there is nothing they have to say which would entertain or enlighten me."
This kind of insightful commentary from everyday residents of Kansas City is why we write this blog. It's worth wading through garbage in order to highlight and represents INDEPENDENT, CRITICAL THINKING BEYOND PARTISAN SLAPFIGHTING OR CULTURE WAR CHEST THUMPING that's getting harder to find anywhere on the Internets . . . But regularly appears right here on TKC.
