A Kansas City college controversy now ends in anti-climax after rage from both students and local conservatives.
The latest . . .
KCUR: Jackson County prosecutors have dismissed a case against a man accused of raping a University of Missouri-Kansas City student after she was allegedly carried unconscious through the lobby of a campus dormitory.
Jackson County court records show the rape charge against Juan D. Contreras of Greeley, Colorado, was dismissed on Monday.
Michael Mansur, a spokesman for Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker, confirmed the charge had been dismissed and the case closed.
“After we met with the victim and witnesses in the case, we concluded we would not be able to carry our burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt,” he said.

Remember that Fox4 reported the suspect as an illegal alien.
Throughout Conservative media, the initial report of an alleged rape by an illegal alien set off a torrent of conspiracy theories targeting Dreamers, politicos and Mexicans.
On the other side of the spectrum, UMKC students raged against a so-called "rape culture" at the commuter college and worked to have administrators fired.
In retrospect, it turns out UMKC administrators were correct to refer to the rap as alleged.
So far, according to prosecutors at least, the UMKC rape was neither a symptom of illegal immigration unfettered nor the hegemony ignoring violence against women . . . As far as the legal system is concerned, nothing happened that can be proven in a court of law.
You decide . . .
The story was always suspect.
ReplyDeleteThe witnesses couldn't identify the victim or the alleged perpetrator.
If you look at this story objectively Tony. Both left and right jumped to conclusions.
"Proven in a court of law"?
ReplyDeleteThat's the old way. Today all you need to do is convince the jury your right, whether you are or not

ReplyDeleteGood for him. I'm sure he'll never be in trouble again! That's the dream, right?
Don't forget that when Baker went to Maryville as a "Special Prosecutor" in a Statutory Rape case she had...
ReplyDeleteTestimony from the 14-year old victim,
Testimony from yet another victim, 13 years old,
Confessions from the four male Accessories to the crime, plus
A CONFESSION FROM THE 20-YEAR OLD RAPIST HIMSELF!
And she determined that there was "Insufficient Evidence" to bring charges against the 20 year old Rapist, who just coincidentally was the grandson of a former State Senator.
Wonder how much money this asswipe's family sent to the US to buy this decision?
Jean Petersucker Baker is the worst prosecutor ever and not just because she is an incompetent dumb cunt. She just doesn't have the balls to put anyone away. She needs to leave.
