Kansas City Sunday Night: Development Agenda Dominates City Hall Despite Police Demand For Support Amid Homicide #116

Here's just a quick glimpse at where we stand this evening . . .

Weekend murder was confirmed today as the local quotient of killing continues to steadily increase this year over last:

Fox4: Police say body found inside KCMO residence is victim of homicide

"The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Reyanna M. Fisher. The cause of death is not being released at this time, but police said her death is being investigated as a homicide.

"The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at (816) 474-TIPS."

Meanwhile . . .

- The KCPD Chief continues his advocacy for increased budget funding in order to put more officers on the streets.

- City Hall hypes infrastructure improvements that's moving slowly and STILL hasn't addressed some of the top concerns for residents like street lights, repair and better sewers.

- Meanwhile, Kansas City's political establishment and most local corporations are devoting most of their resources to building a new airport in hopes that economic development will improve the current murderous slump which embroils the metro.

In the last two weeks before the election, debate over competing agendas will persist as special interests battle to determine the future course for Kansas City.

Developing . . .

  1. TKC, this is the way that Kansas City has always done things.

    MONEY FIRST

    1. What sucks is that most of the media is going along with the developers and the new airport without any real questions.

KC Star is working for their tax cuts
      TV stations are pro development
      Pitch doesn't really matter
And the radio is mostly national syndication.

So when you ask why there isn't really any organized campaign against the airport. The media is a big reason why. They only tell one side of the story.

    2. Future generations will ask how Kansas City became another American city to go bankrupt. The new airport is a big part of the reason why.

      Learn from our mistakes.

  6. Thank you KCPD, we appreciate your service. Police are the reason there are so many murders. Depopulation and gentrification is on schedule. What land investors don't want is riots. Heroine has curbed the uprising.
