TKC READER PERSPECTIVE ON FADING KANSAS CITY LEGACY OF 9/11!!!

Great comments all around on our discussion about 9/11 and local "Patriot Day" disinterest this morning. Here are some insights that stood out from our reader community. Checkit:

Silvestor orgalthorp Said...

"I'm not surprised that the impact is fading
That happens as time goes by
I recall as a child that Pearl Harbor day commemorations were big deals
But today it's all forgotten
We should never forget 9/11 but don't be surprised when it's impact fades"

Super Dave Said . . .

"9/11 will turn into one of those yearly anniversaries that will mean more to those involved than to a nation as a whole. Then you have the conspiracy theories that seem to show up all the time by those who claim that Bush and his cronies made 9/11 happen.

"So in short it will always be known as the tainted tragedy that nobody really admitted doing where as Pearl Harbor we knew that Japan did it or did our government stage that as well?"

TKC Reader Said . . .

"We're too busy protesting 100 year old Confederate statues to show up for a 9/11 memorial ceremony."

You decide . . .

  1. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. I'm glad that some people mark the occasion, if it's just with a run or personally.

it was the biggest attack in American history and it deserves a place in our Collective consciousness

Everyone remembers what they were doing when it happened.

Talk of Confederate Memorials is a false equivalency, unless you're pointing out that the traitors fired on Fort Sumter without physical provocation.

Our nation was attacked on 9/11, & at Fort Sumter.

Confederate Memorials are not American Memorials, they are memorials to traitors, & they were erected as an act of defiance, & an act of terrorism, to let the blacks know that Reconstruction was over, & that they would never be forgiven for being freed & that they would always be considered Second Class Citizens.

  6. Byron Methhead Funkhouser as always will inject wisps of insanity in his attempt to sound smart. Byron you stupid ass liberal, falsely labeling everyone you disagree with homophobes, xenophobes, and racists has cost you and your fellow idiots the Senate, Congress, the Supreme Court and the Presidency. You’d better come up with new strategy, it and your Der Fuhrer crap isn’t making anything happen.
