The KC Transportation Transit and Tourism Committee was formed this earlier this year and September has seen a litany of local concerns contributing BIG MONEY to this political action group as the the new airport election draws near.
Missouri political operative Matt Dameron is the treasurer of KC3T and we've compiled this quick list of EPIC donations over this past month.

Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS - $15,000
The Builders Association - $25,000

That's $310K WORTH OF EPIC FUNDRAISING IN JUST ONE MONTH DESPITE AN AIRPORT BIDDING CIRCUS COUPLED WITH BURNS & MAC FAIL!!!
What have we learned???
Local political pundits tell us the campaign for the new airport is behind schedule and confronts a great deal of skepticism. That's true BUT this data reported FIRST on TKC reveals that there's also a lot of cash weighing in on the topic of transit that's sure to change and/or buy local goodwill.
Developing . . .
Kansas City
ReplyDeleteThe best Democracy money can buy!
Kind of a shame. They might as well burn that money because voters still don't trust Mayor James with a new airport after this secretive process.
DeleteNow is the time to demand some money from this Pac. They're going to raise your airline tickets forever so you might was well get paid up front.
DeleteGlad to see these companies stepping up! We need to move KC forward and this is the best way to modernize and put our best foot forward. This is only the beginning, looking forward to seeing a lot more companies step forward!!!
ReplyDeleteIf we build a new airport, airlines from all over the world will make Kansas City their new hub, and we'll have 46 million tourists flocking in to see our new toot toot, the eighth wonder of the world, every single year for the next millenium. A new airport is all it will take to make Kansas City a "must visit." Trust me.
ReplyDelete10:36 nailed it, if they want to put things on a right course the public will respond. If they want to steamroll then expect a contest.
ReplyDeleteWhere is their fund to restore integrity and update with fresh faces and energy the alphabet soup that got us here. Maybe a corporate listening campaign is in order.
ReplyDeleteGood time for a city reorganization first, the public has lost systemic trust.
ReplyDeleteThe people will still say no, my guess.
ReplyDeleteThat's chump change for those businesses.
ReplyDeleteThey got word if you want to buy a politician easy just go to KC.
If they want to be persuasive, they'll need specifics, something we haven't seen yet.
ReplyDeleteGeneral or celebrity or hick ads like those done by BM won't help and might hurt.
.....and of course a flood of favorable articles in the local newspaper will accompany the blitz.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Blue Cross donating?
ReplyDeleteHow much of that money did Sly get?
ReplyDeleteWhy is the City of Kansas City missing from this list. They are usually very generous with our dollars.
ReplyDeleteGraft on public record. The spirits of Boss Tom and J.C. Nichols live on. Ya' gotta' love it.
ReplyDeleteTime for a ruling that says all forms of business are prohibited from campaign contributions. Politicians are suppose to be for the people not the corporations. In fact make it a huge ass and I mean huge ass fine if any business is caught paying in to any political race.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Carlin was right, the corporations own our asses lock stock and barrel and daily fuck us right up the ass.
They should just be giving that money to NOVA or the Jazz District
ReplyDeleteSo we'll be seeing lots of ads telling us why we need this for a small handful of people who spend most of their time flying in and out of KCI and live here one or two days a week.
ReplyDeleteOh, God, noooooooo....... That's means will we will drowning in mailers and TV ads showing sad pictures of people waiting in line at the "old" airport. I know money talks, but we voters can exercise what little power we have left by saying NO NO NO NO NO NO.
ReplyDeletePlease vote.
If the streetcar expansion is any indication, we the people can vote no in November and the city will build the airport anyway.
ReplyDeleteIf RIVERBOAT GAMBLING approval in this area was any indication, we the people can vote no in November and the city will build the airport anyway.
ReplyDeleteVote to get rid of Sly. That crook.
ReplyDeleteKansas City North And MILINEAL voters will be the reason the single terminal airport will not pass The millennials don't care about resturents and shopping at airports. They shop and dine when they arrive to there destination.
ReplyDeleteso do frequent flyers.
ReplyDeleteVote no so that a remodel, a common-sense remodel, can be done for a fraction of the cost.
ReplyDeleteCan you vote once for every 10,000 frequent flier miles you have.
ReplyDelete$350,000.00 is enough to buy 7000 votes. Not near enough.
ReplyDeleteHeadline should have read "SHAKEDOWN ARTIST IN CORRUPT CITY HALL GETS MONEY FROM..." you fill in the following names of suckers.
ReplyDeleteKC3T = KANSAS CITY 3 TERMINALS
ReplyDeleteRENOVATE, DON'T RAZE!
^^^ That would be nice. That's not true. The new terminal is getting built. Good luck with that spin though CFRG!
ReplyDeleteSee you at the election!
Move the airport, meaning the new terminal back downtown! Make MKC great again!
ReplyDelete....what a great idea. That would be like Dallas Love Field.
ReplyDeleteVOTE NO ON AN EXPENSIVE NEW AIRPORT,!!!!!!
