Construction is underway on a new Downtown Bike Loop in Kansas City.The paint starts hitting the pavement this week for the Grand Boulevard portion of the Downtown Bike Loop. Crews began painting Wednesday evening near 5th Street in the River Market.

Thursday, the council is expected to take up an ordinance confirming the choice of Edgemoor Infrastructure as the lead developer on the terminal project.
Deadly KC Road Trip
A 31-year-old Kansas City man died after being shot Friday night in the 1800 block of McKee Street in northeast Columbia, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department. Police identified the man as Nathan Earl Taylor on Saturday afternoon. Police did not say whether they had a suspect or what led to the shooting.
Suburban Burning Sensation
Firefighters battled a house fire Saturday afternoon in Blue Springs. Heavy black smoke could be seen off I-70 and Missouri 7. The fire was reported at 10th and B streets about 2:15 p.m. Fire crews were just a few blocks away at Blue Springs' fall festival and got to the scene quickly.
