Kansas City Segregation Chat Tonight

Library hot topic on the subject of race and urban planning. A discussion that's most thoughtful than culture warriors beating their breast over the nomenclature of a fountain. Checkit:

The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America

In a discussion of his new book The Color of Law, Richard Rothstein makes the case that the racial divide in America's cities is not just the product of individual prejudices, income disparity, or the actions of developers, banks, and other private institutions, but also federal, state, and local governments.

  1. The only chat Kansas City should have about segregation is how we implement it fully.

  2. Mostly the so called racial divide is due to the desire of people wanting to live among other people who are like them in as many ways as possible. But I doubt that point will be raised at any time during the conversation.

  7. I didn't used to hate them either. I do now as well. Too many actual experiences and being victimized by them

I don't let it happen anymore though. I am thoroughly done with that shit.

  8. You're still a victim and all of us are every time we pay taxes. Where do you think their welfare money comes from?

  12. I don't know why this has to be so difficult. There should be black-only neighborhoods, white-only neighborhoods and mixed neighborhoods, then everyone could live where they're most comfortable. Personally, I don't want to live around blacks and it isn't right to force me or anyone else to do so.

    1. I just moved in June. My neighborhood was getting too black. The people moving in weren't the problem. Instead it was their friends and family. They visited, brought the ghetto to our neighborhood, then left; leaving trash and destruction destruction in their wake. I didn't want to put up with that so we moved.
