To be fair, he's one of the most talented musicians Kansas City has seen in a generation but part of selling his music has been to play pitch man for the toy train and a corrupt administration. Checkit:
KC Musician Kemet Coleman On Being An Urbanist, Rapping For Mayors
The Phantastics describe themselves as "dance floor activators." For the last six years, they've been activating local dance floors with songs that meld rap, jazz, gospel, funk and more. "We definitely try to incorporate as many genres as possible to create not chaos, but a winding river of music," rapper Kemet Coleman told host Gina Kaufmann on KCUR's Central Standard .
Never heard of him so it must be a hood thang
ReplyDeleteHe did the streetcar song.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good song for a bad product.
Also, when you note that you haven't heard about stuff that's reasonably popular, it doesn't make the performer look bad, it just makes you seem like you're out of the loop.
I thought that was Judy Garland? "Ding, Ding, Ding Went the Trolley."
DeleteHey great. Another rapper.
ReplyDeleteSlick James should have been courting Amazon or other big companies the very first day he got into office not jacking off with mediocre rappers.
ReplyDeleteIf you recall, Sly James is a bigot and they don't dig jacking off rappers But feel free to do so.
ReplyDeleteBetter leave town before a jealous cohort shoots him.
ReplyDeleteKemet Coleman is a shallow warped narcissist.
ReplyDeleteHow does a person get so self-centered and in need of attention from others?
He's one of those guys that isn't too bright, but knows just enough to fool some of the people.
If you know this guys stuff then your out of touch with reality
ReplyDeleteKemet is actually a great guy and a really talented musician. His stuff with the Phantastics is some of the best music in the city.
ReplyDeleteF the haters. Kemet is a wonderful talent!
