CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE CAMPAIGNS AGAINST KANSAS CITY DEMOCRACY AND CITIZEN INITIATIVE PETITIONS

12th & Oak won't share any of the blame for low voter turnout that makes it easier to launch an effective petition. Instead, they hope to curtail direct Democracy that poses the last challenge to the corporate governance of the recent Administration.

Here's a preview:

Some KC city officials question special election charter

With the KCI election just under eight weeks away, some city officials are thinking about the charter that allows citizens to place issues on the ballot. Placing an initiative on the ballot in Kansas City requires certified petition signatures equal to five percent of the total number of votes cast in the most recent mayor's race.

  1. If the city hadn't been so arrogant about so many initiatives, the public wouldn't have reacted through the ballot box. Get a mirror Troy.
