TKC MUST READ!!! KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY JAMES TALKS NAACP TRAVEL ADVISORY!!!

Kansas City's top elected official touts equality and tourism. Take a look . . .

Statement from Mayor Sly James on the recent travel advisory issued by the NAACP for the State of Missouri

Kansas City faces historic inequities that cities and states across the United States have struggled to overcome for as long as this nation has existed. We don’t run from the hard work of progress, however. Justice, equality and fairness are fundamental to our future as a community.

Our commitment to equality is not a platitude. Look to leaders in our City Council and government, elected representatives in state government and congress, economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, boards, commissions, police & fire departments, universities, community colleges, public school district and school boards – and you will see a reflection of the diversity that makes us stronger. We are committed to improving more each day.

We welcome the world to Kansas City everyday. And that means we welcome all races, gender identities, religions, ages and sexual orientations. In the coming 18 months alone, Kansas City will play host to more than 200 conventions welcoming more than 430,000 visitors from every walk of life.

There’s no doubt that these days, across the country, trust is strained and a conscious effort is necessary to make sure that all persons, every citizen in any state knows that they are valued, safe, and welcomed.

We want to make sure members of the NAACP and all persons who have concerns over safety or discrimination know, Kansas City welcomes you. I welcome the chance to discuss these issues with representatives of NAACP of Kansas City, cities across Missouri, and nationally. We don’t run from the challenges we face in Kansas City, but we welcome the world to be a part of our constant effort to build a more just, tolerant, and loving city.

  5. Sorry Slie, everyone is catching on to your BS that rolls out of your mouth way to often.

How about fixing the town instead of trying to rebuild it and impress losers like the NAACP.

Your state is controlled by people who hate all women, blacks, gays, immigrants & poor people of every color.

You can't do anything about that, & it's only going to get worse over time.

  16. ^^^Well I am certainly glad you gave your worthless opinion about the NAACP. Here's mine about you: you are a worthless, fat, bald man working in a menial position. You most likely have minorities in positions of power above you. Hence your racial hatred. You blame your life failure on others rather than yourself. You are physically repellent to members of the other sex. Did I nail it?

    ReplyDelete
  17. 7:57, you whiffed again. The Mendoza Line is so far above you that you can't even see it.

  19. Since we have as many tourists as Paris, France, I doubt if the NAACP will be missed.

  20. Unwilling to admit black people are the problem here, beginning, middle and end?

Negro on negro killings, rapes, robberies etc are not any of my business or concern. They can solve their own issues in their own communities (or not) as the case may be. All I care is that their dysfunction and violence stays as far away from human areas as possible. In that regard, I'd really prefer a policy of isolation and containment wherein they could sink or swim based on their own efforts in their own areas and be kept out of mine sans any taxpayer support except that which is supplied by their own. I don't want or need them for anything at all and- no- I don't care about them. They aren't "my people" to use the phrase used by Eric Holder.

Sorry, negroes. But I don't care if you live in a violent shithole of your own making. I don't care if you live in a food desert and a job desert because you've driven all the businesses away with all your bullshit behaviors and don't build or open any businesses of note of your own. I don't care if you have to live in a tarpaper shack as a result of your failures. Nor do I care if one of you has six fatherless and "hongry" niglets. None of it is my business or concern so stop screaming "Gibsme!" or "Heps me!" because I'm staying out of your "bidness."

    P.S. Enjoy your killing fields!
