A police standoff on Kansas City's east side ended peacefully early Tuesday. Kansas City police said officers were called at 11 p.m. to the 3000 block of Lister Avenue on a reported domestic violence assault. When police arrive, a woman told officers that her husband assaulted her and he was in the house with a handgun, authorities said.

ReplyDeleteJust like the Chamber swells, the downtowners love to have dinners and ceremonies to give each other awards and tell one another just how visionary and, well, swell, they really are.
ReplyDeleteBut if these folks want to really thank the heroes who made all those half-empty buildings downtown possible, they're going to have to have a lot more plaques and plastic baubles made.
The REAL heroes are the KCMO taxpayers, who, without their own consent, have paid, are paying, and will be paying for decades for all of this "success".
