Streetcar Supporters Rage Against 'Unconstitutional' Question 1 Demand For Citywide Vote On Streetcar Issues

KCRTA wants to avoid voter input and mistakes the flimsy City Charter with the Constitution . . .

Questions raised about legality, specifics of streetcar ballot initiative

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City voters will head to the polls on August 8 to vote on three ballot initiatives, two of which concern streetcar expansion. If it passes, question 1 on the ballot would fine city employees $1,000 for planning a streetcar expansion without getting voter approval first.

  1. It's a waste of money. Need water fixed and sewers fix. Screw another streetcar. It's only a mechanical nightmare.

  2. Unconstitutional? Like the mail-in must-be-notarized-at-your-expense ballots for the extension are democracy in action.

  4. Recall Mayor Sly James ?????

Would be better to take him to Dinner, then Exit him out the back door to the "TRUNK" of a waiting 1970 Cadillac, like they did in Goodfellas :) !!!!!

  5. I'd like to clear up a bit of confusion for Mr. David Johnson. No, saying the word "streetcar" will not result in a $1,000 fine. HOWEVER, SNEAKING AROUND SPENDING AN UNCONTROLLED AND UNACCOUNTED FOR AMOUNT OF TAX DOLLARS ON PLANNING BOTH STREETCAR EXPANSIONS AND METHODS TO PUT THEM INTO EFFECT WITHOUT THE VOTERS HAVING ANY SAY AS TO HOW THEIR MONEY IS BEING SENT WILLSUBJECT CITY EMPLOYEES TO BEING FINED! Okay, got it now? Any questions? Get the message? GOOD, YOU SNARKY-ASSED DIPSHIT! BYW, YOU KCRTA CLOWNS AREN'T FOOLING ANYBODY, HOW MUCH DO YOU MAKE IN "CONSULTING FEES", ANYWAY?
