City Council pushes divisive airport decision to August 24

Northeast News Three separate airport ordinances were held for a week by the Kansas City, Missouri City Council on Thursday, August 17, setting up a vital day of decision-making on August 24. Next Thursday is the Council's final scheduled legislative meeting before the August 29 deadline to submit ballot language for the November 2017 election.

  1. Anyone asked a skilled lawyer in municipal finance what is constitutionally required under Missouri law for any of this to be lawful? Council people free lancing will result in an embarrassment if they approve a ballot proposition that doesn't pass muster.
