FRIDAY FACE-OFF: LEGISLATOR CRYSTAL WILLIAMS VS. EXEC FRANK WHITE AS JACKSON COUNTY JAIL CRISIS WORSENS!!!
Election season in Jackson County is coming up sooner than most people think and politicos at the Courthouse are desperate to distance themselves from the human rights crisis at the jail that's far worse than most political drama.
In a recent podcast interview, Crystal Williams was more than willing to admit that she was pretty much powerless as a legislator and the jail hot mess was solely the fault of Exec Frank White. She talked about his power over the budget but failed to mention that legislators can always vote to amend or propose legislation of their own . . . So far the Legislature hasn't done much but complain.
But more important than legislative moves is a question of optics:
IS IT WISE FOR LEGISLATOR CRYSTAL WILLIAMS TO TAKE ON JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE???
The attacks from Legislator Dan Tarwater seem more calculated as he has one last chance to run for the big chair . . . But Crystal Williams ranting is a different story. While Exec White's popularity has taken a hit, he'll always be more beloved that this high ranking Hillary Clinton campaigner even if the jail goes up in flames . . . Which seems more likely with every passing day.
