The body count on local streets continues to rise amid a Summer of political slap-fighting.

Here's a warning about the steadily rising count . . .

Kansas City is on its way to another deadly record with 87 homicides already this year. Local activists say do not lose hope and start helping out. "It's out of hand is what it is," said Damon Daniel, president of AdHoc Group Against Crime.


As of now, this is a 45% increase following the tally reaching 50% last week following a triple-murder weekend.

Man charged after woman shot and killed in KCMO

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man has been charged in the shooting that killed a woman Wednesday afternoon. John Frazier faces second-degree murder and armed criminal action charges. The parents of 36-year-old Tamara Frazier told 41 Action News she showed up Wednesday afternoon to pick up her two sons from the ex-husband who has custody of them.


Armed carjacking suspects arrested in KC after police chase across state line

Two suspects in an armed carjacking were arrested in Kansas City Thursday afternoon after a police chase from Kansas City, Kan.


KCK Police working the scene of a life-threatening shooting

The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that happened Thursday afternoon. That incident happened in the 1900 block of North 63rd Street. At least one person has life-threatening injuries. Police said the incident started as a fight outside of the Dollar Store on 63rd.

  13. The highest count was in the early 1990's when the numbers went as high as 153. Nobody wants to see anything like that happen here again. For heavens sakes we are NOT freakin' Chicago or Detroit. People just stop the killing. Enough is enough.
