Mostly thanks to the weather, there has been a brief respite in the horrific Kansas City murder count.
However, this pause gives us an opportunity to take stock of the situation and so far it's not looking good.
Accordingly . . .
THIS JULY'S KANSAS CITY MURDERS THREATEN TO BREAK A LONGSTANDING MONTHLY HOMICIDE RECORD!!!
Here's the word from one of the most knowledgeable crime experts in the metro who crunches the numbers for the benefit of public information:
Dr. Ernest Evans: So far, we have had 15 homicides in KCMO in July 2017. The record for one month in KCMO is 20 homicides (August 2008). We may set a new record this month.
With one more weekend left to go, things could get tense and this could be close . . . In the days leading up to the end of the month, expect Kansas City elected leaders and activists on the payroll to ramp up their publicity stunts.
Developing . . .
I don't like that you keep track of homicide by numbers.
ReplyDeleteTHESE ARE PEOPLE. They have names.
But adding up the totals might be important to keep reminding people that these deaths won't stop if we don't do something.
You are absolutely right. These numbers represent people who are loved, who will be missed, and whose lives were taken by someone who had no right to do so. They were not perfect, some were fighting demons and facing stuff we know nothing about, but it is not up to a person to decide when someone else should die. These murders affect every corner of our city, regardless of what zip codes are involved...so stop it, just Stop.It. Okay, let the hatefulness begin...
DeleteWhy would you think stopping the killing is a priority? It isn't a priority. We need way more killing.
DeleteWhat's the cancer rate in these murder clusters? Inner City Oil was on Cleaver and Kosters watch. Same with Bannister. There's uranium hurried out there, and benzene running north and south on Indiana, the old weapons plant is on the Blue River and runs 28 miles to the Missouri River. Same with Ferguson, the real Ferguson effect is radiation dumped from the Manhattan Project that's been killing people on Cold Water Creek. That Uranium made it to the old Bendix Weapons Plant, been sold at least three times, now Center point owns it. There's a marine barracks out there and those soldiers are getting exposed. Let's talk about this Mafia known as the National Security State. Stop being a cow
ReplyDeleteHey - at least its something to shoot for! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat times the big game? Any free donuts today? Plus bacon and barbecue
ReplyDeletethe number of homicides is too low. We need more gunfights in the hood over the last piece of chicken, shoes, whatever it takes. The legal consequences are basecally nonexistent with Jean Petersucker Baker being the prosecutor, even if the catch a murderer, which hardly ever happens.
ReplyDeleteI blame the sun because as sure as the sun rises, blacks will continue to behave like animals.
ReplyDeleteAll the more reason to build a new airport and hotel. It just makes perfect boon mayor sense!
ReplyDeleteAll of the above:Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
ReplyDeleteKilla City, Misery...
ReplyDeleteI personally appreciate Tony keeping track of the count, just like all the KC media does. If you want to wax poetic about the victims, say to the black community who kill each other daily. As for the rest of us, TKC is a handy place to come to to see the latest count. Personally, I think a ticker in the masthead would be cool.

ReplyDeleteSo our goal is 21. Everyone knows we can do it. It would be great to finish July on a roll. Then if we could breat that record in AUgust would be even better.
ReplyDeleteHave the Tulsa Hoodrats got their revenge yet ?
ReplyDeletewhat's people's take on decorating the new airport?
ReplyDeleteBig, bright bow tie patterned tile floors and walls in bathrooms--urinals that resemble pissing into busted out windows on $1. houses--toilets that mimic deep potholes--body bags stuffed with unsolicited bulk campaign mailers and Fight For $15 posters as lounge chairs--balloons, candles, and T-shirt ads depicted in murals throughout the concourse--water drinking fountains shaped like bullhorns--a row of bushes with a large dent along a dining patio in exact replica of those at The Plaza's Cheesecake Factory--instead of Muzak, a perpetual loop of popo/fire/ambulance sirens with intermittent gunfire and crashes--AND air freshener in backedup sewer smells!
DeleteJust for added fun--actual hot branding irons in the shape of dollar $ign$ at souvenir shops--raffle booths for chances to chimpout to get out of fines or towing--$2. scratchoffs for prizes like a free Cleaver Carwash or lessons in Sly shuffle, jig and jive--bullhorns!
LMAO! That's some funny (and yet true) stuff, 407!
DeleteBoom KILLA cities breakin records
ReplyDeleteOK 738HAS LOST HIS MIND
ReplyDelete12:01PM=braindead butthead still afflicted with chronic boredom, because only the BORING get bored. GET A LIFE, YUUUUGE LOSER!
ReplyDeleteWith a 1 in 4 chance of a bad guy getting away with murder in this city, 0 in 4 if the victim is a complete stranger, why would anyone stop? Surely you don't expect an arrest and prosecution and prison time in Jackson County?
ReplyDeleteThe police have had no effect on all the killing. So just let them alone and keep killing each other.
ReplyDeleteWe need a better plan. This piecemeal garbage has to go. We need leaders who are tough on crime!
ReplyDeleteI think that August 2008 record was the one where Carol Coe predicted there would be no murders that month.
