TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! FRANK WHITE SUPPORTERS STILL BELIEVE BASEBALL LEGACY WILL DISTRACT VOTERS FROM JACKSON COUNTY JAIL CRISIS!!!

There is a human rights crisis in Jackson County BUT cheerleaders for the politico in charge believe that his long-ago baseball contribution to Kansas City have made him so beloved that locals won't mind the ongoing damage this crisis is causing (and costing) local government.

Polling from the recent GO Bond election asked voters about their impressions of JaxCo Exec Frank White and most of them ranked him as the most popular elected official in Kansas City behind Mayor Sly James. Mainstream political wisdom among the KC elite (don't laugh) translates info to mean that the County Exec is nearly untouchable.

And so we ask our blog community for a more objective analysis . . .

HAS JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE'S POPULARITY TAKEN A HIT FROM THE JACKSON COUNTY JAIL CRISIS???

Before our readers decide, let's review:

A horrific story of a woman raped and an ensuing lawsuit started the crisis . . .

Don't forget that a man was allegedly raped and his lawsuit describes illicit behavior from guards.

There has been raw sewage and toilet overflow in the cell blocks which has caused lawsuits.

The feds just raided the jail.

And even after that, two female guards were attacked and injured on the job.

Even worse, these stories don't look like they're going to stop anytime soon as the news from the jail keeps getting worse and maybe more important than local sports legends.

You decide . . .

  1. Don't forget that voters skew older so a lot of them will still voter for Frank because first impressions are hard to alter for many seniors. But that only applies if these bombshells inevitably taper off at some point.

  4. Last I heard jail wasn't supposed to be fun. So, law abiding humans care not.

  5. It's a real tribute to clueless low-information people when the top elected executives in the two worst-run jurisdictions in the region are the "most popular".
There's pretty much nothing that residents and businesses count on coming from their local governments that either of these two operations do even marginally well.
KCMO regularly ranks as the worst-run city in the entire country.
And the 2017 homicide rate per 1000 residents is currently beating Chicago.
Looks like just a nice smile and a shoeshine still sell.

  7. Voters are generally distracted by bright, shiny objects and other circus. Frank will do fine on this environment.

  9. Mr. White is a vulnerable incumbent IF and only IF he faces a formidable opponent who:

    1) has an impressive, untarnished background.

    2) is actively willing to campaign on the failures of White (jail crisis, nepotism, AWOL job performance, etc.)

    3) is capable to raising the necessary funds to coordinate a media campaign highlighting White's weaknesses as County Executive, while not touching his sports legacy.

You can get into the moving business if you want, but it's really not necessary to buy any long-distance trucks.
There are many dozens of great communities all around the region, with excellent public schools, well-maintained streets and sidewalks, safe neighborhoods, parks, moderate and predictable taxes, competent snow removal, and all the other things that contribute to a high quality of life.
And you can continue to enjoy the many benefits of events and activities in KCMO, the great majority of which are private and have nothing to do with the city government.
The cost/benefit of living in KCMO itself is mostly upside down, even in parts of the city like Brookside, and increasingly, others.
It's hard to listen to PR and hype day after day when you actually can see what's really going on.

  11. Frank White is taking all the perks of the office and doing nothing. He does not even go to the weekly meeting it just a matter of time before the Royals thing wears off and he is exposed for the graffter he is.

  12. If Frank really gave a shit, he wouldn't run. Man hasn't got a clue what he's doing.

  13. American Exceptionalism wins again at the ballot box! The ruling minority in Johnson County wins again!

  14. Mr. White raised his hand and solemnly swore to up hold the laws of Jackson County and State of Missouri. HE IS RESPONSIBLE for the well being of prisoners in his county. He has not taken care of business so the business needs some change.

  15. It's time for Frank to go if he is going to retain any of his good image in the public's eye.

  16. Mark my words, if Frank sticks around for another full term he will be indicted. Too much sketchy shit going down now. Travel. Junkets. Trips. Anonymous gift bags. Wife getting all expense paid spa treatments. Bad shit.

  17. Frank is a negro and incapable of running anything
