Man hospitalized after being shot by police in Lee's Summit
A man has been hospitalized after being shot by police in Lee's Summit on Friday night. Around 11:30 p.m., officers were called to an apartment in the 700 block of NE Tudor Road to check on a man who was suicidal.
Heavy handed? The guy was armed with a gun, suicidal and fired shots through the door while officers were talking to him. He came outside and they used less lethal on him first to include bean bag rounds and a taser. He continued to advance on the officers with a gun (after he already fired at them) and was then shot. Sounds like they exercised great restraint and used other options before using deadly force against a male who was suicidal and ready to die by any means necessary.
