The latest complaint against police in this rough part of the metro comes from a young lady and her mom following a box store altercation. Checkit:

An Independence police officer is coming under criticism after he was caught lifting and slamming a young man on to his squad car. Corban Dyche, 18, said the incident happened at the Walmart on Bolger and 39th Street. It's still hard for the young man's mother to watch that video.

I normally defend the police, but having personal knowledge of what a dysfunctional, maltrained and overly agressive bunch of jack booted ass clowns make up the Barney Fifes in Independence I am all for court intervention. This is a department that is on record putting old lades and school teachers face down over traffic offenses and no offenses at all, damn near killing a kid when there wasn't even probable cause to make an arrest, going onto private citizens property and trying to bully their way into houses without warrants simply because property owners won't submit to their bullshit, chasing minor traffic offenders all the way through the metro into Kansas, slamming a citizens face into a counter because he requested a form to file a complaint and tasering and beating a cooperating Iraq war veteran. Then, as you see in the video, the police threaten a person with jail for trespassing because he was recording actions by police officers - as if the police own Walmart and can just declare someone is trespassing there.
ReplyDeleteIn most cases it is perfectly reasonable to expect a person to cooperate with police. However, there is no requirement for a citizen to submit to being insulted, cursed, bullied, assaulted, illegally searched or having any other constitutionally guaranteed rights violated by some hot headed, poorly trained, rookie ass cop. It further appears this kid was arrested for what? Flipping a cop the finger? OMG! I can't wait for the SCOTUS to educate IPD on the first amendment and recommend a good anger management class for it's psycho shit heads.
