Today's KCMO Car Crash Tragedy
A man was killed when someone ran a stoplight, causing a pair of vehicles to collide late Thursday evening. Now, that driver has been charged with a DWI. Jason Evans, a 20-year-old from Leavenworth, is now facing a charge of driving while intoxicated, a class B felony. Prosecutors have requested a $100,000 bond.
Overnight Gunfire Report
Police were investigating a shooting Friday night in Kansas City that left one person in stable condition. The shooting was reported shortly before 10 p.m. in the 4300 block of Benton Boulevard. According to dispatch, the victim was in stable condition and talking to officers on the scene.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- In the first 6 ½ months of this year, 52 people have died in car crashes in Kansas City, Mo. That's a stunning increase of 49 percent. Last year at this same time, 35 people had died. Kansas City, Mo., police say seven of the victims died this week alone.
More Deets On Car Crime Suspects
Even though one of the two suspects is still on the run, the Wyandotte County district attorney has filed charges in connection with the theft of a car that had a 3-year-old inside on Wednesday night. Tyler Letzig and Karri Reich face three charges each of kidnapping, aggravated endangerment of a child and theft.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Friends and family are mourning the loss of Charlie Morales, after he died Thursday morning in a three car crash just south of I-70 on I-435. Fox 4's Melissa Stern spoke to a friend of Morales Friday who says they met working at the McDonald's off of Hickman Mills Drive and Red Bridge Road together.
