The Council races are already shaping up and thanks to our blog community we've got FIRST LOOK at some of the contenders.
First and foremost . . .
KANSAS CITY INSIDERS TOUT MISSOURI STATE SENATOR JASON "BIG RED" HOLSMAN LOOKING AT THE 6TH AT LARGE!!!
From a campaign finance perspective, he'll be able to outspend any of his contenders and the Council run is a smarter move than trying to compete in the already crowded Mayoral race.

6th District at large potential candidates currently are:
Stacey Johnson-Cosby - Councilman Scott Taylor's PIAC rep, Neighborhood Tourism Fund, Chairperson, South Kansas City Alliance . . . Stacey is a Sly and Taylor cheerleader
DaRon McGee - State Rep 36th district, DaRon will be looking for east side help and will be on the tail end of his 2nd Term. He's proven himself a good fundraiser and formidable campaigner.
Jason Holsman - State Senator - Jason is termed out in 2020 and backed down from chasing Statewide office when he had his chance.

ReplyDeleteLove the merry-go-round of elected officials. You start out small and then work your way up to state level and maybe you make it to fed gov level. Or you term-limit out of state level and then drop back down to city council? Wow - what a come-down for these folks who never had a real job.

Fuck no to all of them, but especially Stacey, who is a Chamber of Commerce type Republican. She works with John Sharp and other tools to deliver south KC into the greedy hands of our corporate masters.
