KANSAS CITY HYDE PARK CARJACKING SCARE HOT MESS MONDAY AFTERMATH!!!

First person testimony regarding a HORRIFYING run-in with crooks is circulating this morning among Midtown Kansas City denizens who fear their neighborhood spiraling out of control this Summer. Checkit:

"When returning home this evening as I was getting out of my car in my driveway, a man came up and said: "Get out of the car!"

"As I was getting out of the car, my neighbor was coming out of his house. I shouted for help. The carjacker had my purse and cellphone was well as all my keys. He shut the door and my neighbor ran over and started battering the window with his walking stick, trying to break the window. The window didn't break, but it scared the carjacker and he left by the passenger door, thankfully dropping my purse on the way out. My neighbor said there were actually 3 guys and he saw them sneaking up from behind. He chased them but wasn't able to catch them. The police were here within minutes. I am at ########### & Harrison. I'm very shaken but unharmed, thanks to my neighbors whom I greatly appreciate helping me. I have reported this information to the police."

  5. One TV station(5 or 41) said the home was on Kenwood, not Harrison. West of Troost. They interviewed a couple on their porch. And it was a husband who had his car stolen. So, were there two attacks in this Hyde Park neighborhood this weekend? So scary. The TV report showed security footage of young thugs spread out like an advancing pride of lions on the prowl.

  7. But yet those houses are selling for ridiculously high prices. So sad to see people pay more than these houses are worth to live with high crime and not be able to get out. Glad I sold before all of this happened.

  13. The police can't protect you. They might respond quickly after you are harmed but you are basically on your own as far as preventing crime. You are a dipshit if you choose to live their. If you are an unarmed dipshit living there, you deserve what you get.

  14. Great comments, Tracy. One small quibble: rather than comparing the thugs to an "advancing pride of lions", the more appropriate analogy is to "a scene from 'the War for the Planet of the Apes' ".

    1. Why don't you and Tony get together for a murder-suicide? It may not save Kansas City but it couldn't hurt.

Plus you could do it fast. Today, even.

  19. 2:10...aw, Boo--are you having a heat stroke? Go drink some lemonade.
Stay inside, especially if you reside in Hyde Park.

    Don't kill the carrier pigeons.
Tony and I just comment on what is happening as your town falls apart,
    while Sly James fiddles.

Exactly what is the city doing to fix the real problems?
The trolley. The hotel. The "new smaller 35 gate $1 million KCI". The 123 GO bonds.
All are distractions. And enrichment of a few.

This is so sad, but don't blame us for pointing it all out.
