Quick update on the local impact of the planet dying or at least a big ice cube plunging into the sea amid steadily increasing hotness.

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS FEAR INCREASING HEAT RELATED FATALITIES AMID MORE MSM TALK OF GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE AND ICEBERG FEAR!!!

All the science we don't understand but there's no question that local temperatures are oppressively scorching outside and locals need to take precautions.

One example:

KMBZ: RideKC offers cooling bus to counter heat, humidity

Additionally, checking in on seniors and people working outside is a good idea.

But better than these practical examples of what we can do in our own backyard . . . It's also productive to inspire fear while engaging in the prospect of global extinction because friends and loved ones can't afford a hybrid car. Also, denying the empirical fact that the planet is getting hotter for whatever reason whilst touting reckless consumption is also a typically schizophrenic reaction to impending doom.

  3. It's July. It's ALWAYS hot in July.

As for the heat deaths increasing. I've heard the same thing and it has more to do with increasing poverty and not the temperature.

  4. More people die from cold in the winter than from heat in the summer, but media don't report on those because it does not match their preferred narrative.

And BTW, I think this was actually a nice post in disguise. Maybe looking in on older folks during the heat isn't such a bad suggestion. I see what you did there TKC.

  13. An iceberg in this part of the country is the least of my worries. Yes I remember 1980 very well. Now that was hot and dry.

  14. It was also minus 24 degrees in Kansas City just before Christmas in 1989. It's called weather, not climate. Mean and median rise in temperature is real, a fact, and educated people not connected with the fossil fuel industry are in agreement that the rising climate temperature is overwhelmingly caused by human-produced skyrocketing carbon dioxide levels. Ignorance, denial or a twisted faith that God will fix it all if we pray hard enough just isn't going to solve an enormous problem. Even China, choking on polluted air, gets it. They are by far the world leader in production of alternative, clean energy technology. We are going backward, thanks to the slack-jawed yokels who put this criminal junta in power.

  16. "rising climate temperature is overwhelmingly caused by human-produced skyrocketing carbon dioxide levels"

    Sure about that?
650k years ago the North American glacier reached to where the Missouri river is now.

10k years ago ice had retreated to the Des Moines area.

These days ships travel across the top of the world during summer.

We started burning coal 200 years ago
    petroleum 100 years ago.

Man made change? Well, a bit I suppose.
