The streetcar ridership stats have encountered skepticism from Downtown denizens who see mostly empty trains during the vast majority of the work week. Admittedly, the street numbers reveal that the line is mostly for tourists on Saturdays, Sundays and special events.
This month the toy train streetcar authority cheerleaders are reporting even more gains this year over last as they push to expand the line by gerrymandering a smaller district via secret ballot and a complicated election process.

ReplyDeleteWe need to think about hiring white gloved pushers, like the Japanese used to have to squash people into packed subway cars. Otherwise the streetcars will be too full to board.

ReplyDeleteI support the streetcar, I support Kansas City. It creates jobs, it's helps the economy and it gives people a reason to visit downtown. Get out of the way of progress!
