Parking overflow from new apartments is ruining midtown KC, residents say
Laura Burkhalter loves her street - except when there's no place to park. In Kansas City's Southmoreland neighborhood, generally between Main Street and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Burkhalter says that parking woes are distracting from the area's livability. Residents fear it will get worse when a proposed apartment building opens.
City hall wants "density". Their attitude is move in, pay your taxes which go to the developer anyway and shut the fuck up.
ReplyDeleteJus wait and see what happens near 51st and Brookside. Big apartment building getting ready to open up. If streetcar is expanded that neighborhood will be one big park and ride lot for streetcar riders going downtown .
ReplyDeleteEasily solved... pick an area, say between 51st and 55th, Oak on the west, Rockhill on the east, bulldoze everything flat, pave it, and provide parking and Civic Improvement all at the same time.
