Another Jackson County Lawsuit Coming Soon: Family Questions Jail 'Restraint Chair' Tactics After Inmate Dies In Custody
While the political battle heats up behind the scenes . . . Here's a glimpse at reasonable questions against an institution with a litany of problems. Take a look:
Jackson County inmate dies after being placed in restraint chair
A death investigation is underway in the Jackson County Jail after an inmate was rushed from a restraint chair to the hospital. The family of 35-year-old Richard Degraffenreid says he was brain dead on arrival. He ended up in jail Thursday night because of a parole violation.
Sometimes bad things happen to bad people I have seen on more than one occasion combative people who if not restrained go on to hurt anyone around them. Nobody's job should require you to just stand there and allow some asswipe to kick the living crap out of you or anyone else for that matter just because they are high on drugs or just pissed off that they can't have their way.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Those who have a problem with it, please suggest a viable alternative.
DeleteProbably no alternative to restraints would have worked. Restraints protect both the offender and those around the offender. But they can be used in inhumane and inappropriate ways. But he was checked several times by a medical person. So lets see what the evidence says.
ReplyDeleteHe was either not checked by medical personnel, just cause the county says that's what happened doesn't make it so, or he was checked by medical staff that didn't know what they are doing.
ReplyDeleteTwo deaths that look pretty suspicious in just a couple of months and what has Frank been up to in between? Trying to get the sheriff fired when it's the county executive's job to run the jail and brushing off a horrendous rape that happened in the jail as old news.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Frank is playing games. What else would you expect from an old baseball player?
ReplyDeletecall amnesty international for an intervention.
ReplyDeleteget a public interest law firm to get a restraining order on the jail.
