Will Kansas City Residents Get To Vote On The Proposed Downtown Convention Hotel?!?!

Tax fighters have fulfilled the obligations of the charter but some "accelerated ordinance" trickery by the Mayor and most of the Council moved this question away from voters. Once again, another decision by Mayor Sly could confront a court challenge. You decide:

KC convention hotel challenge gathered enough signatures

A group that wants to put Kansas City's proposed downtown convention hotel to a public vote has gathered enough signatures under the city charter's referendum provision, the city clerk said Friday, June 16, 2017. But that doesn't necessarily mean the election will be held.
