New cameras on Independence Ave. already yielding results

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - New surveillance cameras and license plate readers along Independence Avenue are already helping solve crimes, including a kidnapping that occurred near Independence Avenue and Hardesty early last week. The footage, which is actively being investigated by KCPD sex crime investigators, was provided by the Real Time Crime Center and helped locate the victim, who was found wandering down Independence Avenue.

  1. If won't keep anyone safe but it may help solve a crime or two. That one video of that guy robbing Jimmy Johns was hilarious.

  3. Shot Spotter is really old. How long did it take the criminals to stage a diversion by shooting guns in one part of the area while their partners robbed in another?

  5. Be sure and identify where these cameras are located, for the benefit of the bad people. Not that pictures of the top of people's heads is going to do much good. I also love the security cameras inside businesses. Great shots of the crook's head. Even better when it's fuzzy or grainy. Waste of money.
