The mayor's buddies and fanboys have devised a horrible plan over many beverages and Kansas City insiders are surprised to hear it repeated during the light of day.
Accordingly . . .
TEAM SLY IS ALREADY PUTTING TOGETHER AN ELECTION SLATE THAT INCLUDES TRANSIT DUDE ROBBIE MAKINEN AS A MAYORAL HOPEFUL!!!
Never mind that the guy might be very nice but not really qualified for the job he has now. This plan also doesn't consider so many complaints across the metro about quality and service of KC bus transit. Finally, the plan also fails to mention resistance and annoyance to so many hapless KCATA plans like their silly move to try and take over the airport.
Nevertheless, Robbie Makinen now joins the fray as a potential KC Mayoral contender in the next election and one of Team Sly's faves.
Again, while we respect the struggle and the hustle of Mr. Makinen . . . His affiliation with Team Sly reveals that the Mayor's acolytes have become increasingly out of sync with the electorate and hopes for KC moving into the future. While insiders and corporate patronage currently rule the last days of Mayor Sly, it's doubtful that KCMO will remain an "open city" for brazen subsidy for very long. At the very least, the money is going to run out . . . Again.
And so, this bus dude might have traveled a long way but he shouldn't expect a free pass from the voting public just because he's friendly with the Mayor.

Remember his first act in office was to give Frank White's son a no-show 6 figure job after Frank's appointee voted for his new contract. Makinen makes over $200,000 a year and all the guy has is a GED. How does an unqualified guy get a gig like that? Kickbacks and corruption. Plain and simple. If Sly or anyone thinks that Makinen will be their friend, then they need to think again and focus on recent history. Makiknen almost singlehandedly caused most of the bad sotries in the Sanders administration. He created most of the drama bout his former boss by running around starting gossip and rumors and pitting people against one another while acting like their friends.. Sanders was the guy who pulled him out of the gutter of the casino and made him who is. Makinnen returned the favor by screwing him over every chance he got. Sanders was always to naïve to see him for who he was, and he still doesn't to this day and it nearly ruined him.
