Show-Me The Skelton Missouri Political Hopeful Comeback Cousin

She describes her self as the "distant cousin" of one of the most iconic politicos in Missouri history but the smarter denizens among our blog community have identified her as a future leader and bright shining hope for Show-Me State Democrats who remain desperate to bust out of Super-Minority Status and return to their organized labor and working class advocacy influence over statewide politics. Checkit:

Michela Skelton for 50th District State Representative - A Voice for Working Families

With Governor Greitens' signature on SB 19 (Senate Bill 19), the so-called "Right to Work" bill, the war on Missouri workers hastens. The bill strips workers of the right to freely enter into collective bargaining contracts with their employers for better healthcare, better wages, and better opportunities.

  4. LOLOL!! "The bill strips workers of the right to freely enter into collective bargaining contracts with their employers for better healthcare, better wages, and better opportunities"...

FALSE! the bill FREES workers from mandatory coughing up a chunk of their paycheck.

another Democrat pimping for Democrat greedy union slob honchos --looking to scam worker wages.

  7. Ike was my favorite Democrat, and I was sorry that he lost when he did. If she does as well as he did, more power to her. This is coming from a Republican who has never voted to send a Dem to Washington. It is really too bad that the old school Dems like Skelton have either died or switched parties.

  8. Zell Miller was another one (on a Nat'l level anyway). The last of the blue dog democrats before their progressive leaders snuffed that mode of thought out.

The outright lies about right to work peg her for exactly what she is: a progressive liberal. I am actually not necessarily in favor of all aspects of right to work, but one thing it most certainly does not do is prevent people from entering into a union, it does prevent that union from co-opting employees by force though.

I'm fully in favor of a union bargaining for wages, if a person doesn't belong to that union, then they don't get to be part of the agreement. i.e. Administrative Assistant III (unionized) - $60k/yr, Admin Asst. III (individual) - $50k/yr. I would be perfectly fine with that. I also am waffling on the prevention of prevailing wage contracts for Cities. They should be permitted to set their own standards: i.e. KC keeps the prevailing wage, but a little town of 800 people can opt out; where the dollars make a huge difference for amount of work.

  9. The Democratic Party nationwide has purged all remaining political moderates from their ranks over the last decade. Then they wonder why they keep losing more and more elected offices.
