KCMO Drama: Save UMKC Theatre Screed

An impassioned plea for a program that's taking a hit along with a great many other denizens of the University of Missouri system following outrage over racial protest and football boycotts. Checkit:

Let's Put a Priority on Doing Good Work

Society does a real number on us regarding what the "important" professions are in the world. As with many beliefs we are indoctrinated with, they're not always true. That's why when I look at the budget threat to the University of Missouri-Kansas City's theater department, including the potential cut of four more faculty members, I find myself deeply upset and angry.

  1. Sorry folks it cane down to the theatre department or the tutors for the urban black scholars. You knew who was going to win that one.

  3. Aren't most of the theatre dept people gay anyway?

  4. They pitted the blacks against the gays! Start rioting I mean protesting right this second!

  6. They could close the two black only colleges in Missouri and save a couple hundred million dollars then none of the real colleges would suffer

  7. How about just making sure the urban scholars that go there for free anyway can at least read and write.

  8. Michelle T. Johnson is a professional "BLACK LIBERAL LOON", meaning she relies upon her race, politics, and wacky reasoning to insert herself into a dysfunctional organization (liberal academia/NPR)in order to make a living.

  9. So she's getting paid by the government

  10. If there are any UMKC college chicks with a BMI under 40 please call me. We can make some porn loops and raise a shitload of money for both thespians and lesbians.

  11. Easy way to figure out which ones to fire: Look at their Facebook pages or twitters and the ones who make nasty remarks about our President should be the first to go. Go now!

  12. The UMKC Theatre program is a nice little program for those folks who think they have talent that will take them to Broadway. Yeah, right. It will take them to the unemployment line or force them to wait tables. Kansas City is not New York or even Chicago. The actors who appear in EVERYTHING are members of an incestuous little group, and newbies may as well move somewhere else because they will never have a chance to get a plum role. Oh, they may end up as an extra in A Christmas Carol, but that's it.

  13. Given that KC produces about one celebrity a decade and most never went to UMKC someone explain what we are trying to accomplish here other than create a very expensive playground facility for grown children.
