To its credit, the local NPR affiliate, KCUR, is at least asking the right general question when it comes to violent crime in Kansas City, namely why can't local leaders solve the problem. The problem should be at the forefront of every local civic discussion.

ReplyDeleteWe haven't solved the problem because no one in the city's leadership thinks it a problem or if they do, they are very silent about it. Contrast that with how much they can't stop talking about KCI or a streetcar, which of course are the city's REAL problems.

ReplyDeleteYou ever go to NYC? It's weird because you will actually see well-dressed black people in business attire that look like they have jobs. It strikes me how rarely I see someone like that here. Black people in the Midwest refuse to accept education as the way to get ahead in life, therefore they don't work or have lower-paying jobs. We can't do anything about the crime level of black people. They need to do the things in life that the rest of the world has figured out long ago to make things better for themselves. But we know they won't. They do everything to assure failure in life.
